VIRTUAL ASTRONOMY ON TAP!
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Astronomy on Tap went virtual!
In collaboration with the Scobee Education Center, the first ever virtual San Antonio Astronomy on Tap took place. I was delighted to be speaking about the continued exploration of the Jupiter system with the Juno mission. Check it out! |

STAR PARTY!
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, on Aug. 22nd 2020, we organized a facemasked new moon party in Marathon, TX, that has some of the darkest sky in the US. The star party was held at the Marathon Motel & RV Park, a fantastic place highly regarded by astronomers and astrophotographers. The motel provides dedicated space for astrophotographers and rent secured slots to set-up and remotely operate your telescope.
I talked about the latest discoveries made by NASA's Juno mission at Jupiter. Attendees were then able to directly look at Jupiter's atmospheric structure and clouds using on-site telescopes after the presentation. |
SKYPE-A-SCIENTIST!
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I got involved with Skype-A-Scientist, a program designed to connect middle/high-schoolers with scientists.
I did an intervention in the Elysian Charter School in New Jersey. Great questions and interests from the 5th graders!! |
INTERVIEW IN THE SCIENCE PODCAST "COLLISION COURSE"
|
On 15 March 2020, I was interviewed by Francis Walsh, host of the youtube podcast Collision Course.

INVITED SPEAKER AT ASTRONOMY ON TAP: SATX
On 29 January 2020, I was the guest speaker at San Antonio's
Astronomy on Tap! I discussed how the transits of Venus have been used in the past, especially in the XVIII century, to provide a fairly good estimate of distances in the Solar System. The event took place at the Blue Star Brewing Co. The audience was really into it and it was standing room only! |

INTERVENTION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
On 27 November 2019, I had the pleasure to visit one my hometown's middle school: Collège Edouard Vaillant
I explored with an entire class of 9th graders (3ème) some of the cool things we know about the solar system. We talked about the latest discoveries made thanks to the numerous satellites sent in space by the space agencies (NASA, ESA, JAXA) so far. We had a fantastic time, with lots of great questions!! |
OUREACH ACROSS THE BORDER
During a visit in my hometown, I had the pleasure to give a conference to the Bordeaux Astronomical Society (SAB), in Bordeaux (France).

ASTRONOMY ON TAP: SAN ANTONIO
Astronomy on Tap (AoT) is a worldwide non-profit organization, initially started in 2013 in NYC. Its purpose is to bring science to the public in a friendly environnement, through FREE evening in bar.
In 2018, Tracy Becker and myself decided to create the San Antonio AoT location. We have been leading that organization for more than 2 years, organizing over 19 events. The San Antonio AoT team has grown and includes 6 volunteers as of November 2019. All details about the future events organized by San Antonio's AoT can be found on Facebook or Twitter. |

OUTREACH ACROSS THE BORDERS
Solar System model built in Oaxaca, Mexico, on Nov 2018
|
I am passionnate about sharing the excitement on space exploration of the Solar System with all age groups, and especially the young ones!
I also strongly believe that science and knowledge must cross the borders. In that idea, I have initiated a workshop with a school in Oaxaca, south Mexico. At my second visit, we had a workshop where the kids built their own model of the solar system. This was a lot of fun for everybody! |
SOLAR SYSTEM AMBASSADOR
NASA's Solar System Ambassadors (SSA) program works with motivated volunteers across the nation to share NASA science and mission discoveries through a variety of events that inspire their communities.
In 2018, I have been selected by NASA to serve as a volunteer, and I have organized various event throughtout San Antonio and also in my home country (France). |
